AML Operations Analyst
About the role
ANZ's Bengaluru Risk domain is hiring an AML Operations Analyst to ensure timely, accurate processing of alerts and KYC reviews within SLAs and established policies. Day-to-day work includes reviewing and assessing alerts and cases, providing investigation justifications, undertaking Enhanced Customer Due Diligence and regulatory AML/CTF reporting, and liaising with senior management across geographies on KYC compliance. The role also involves resolving or escalating complex matters, driving process improvements, and keeping the team informed on policy, procedural, operational, and training issues. This is a permanent position based in Bengaluru with early shifts.
What you’ll do
- Review and assess alerts and cases generated.
- Provide justification on the decision and outcome of investigations.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including Senior Management in Institutional businesses across all geographies, to advise on KYC Compliance and Due Diligence processes.
- Meet or exceed Service Level Agreements.
- Drive process improvements in the workflow.
- Ensure process and procedures are followed throughout the investigation.
- Resolve and/or escalate complex matters to the Manager or Business Heads in a timely manner and ensure closure of the issue.
- Take responsibility for keeping the team informed on policy, procedural, operational, and training issues.
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience.
- AML/CTF, Financial Crime, or Risk experience.
- Correspondent Banking and Compliance experience.
- Experience and knowledge of Trade products, Letter of Credit, and trade compliance.
- Strong knowledge of banking and financial services products and procedures.
- Well-developed written and oral communication with strong analytical and customer service skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with confidence to make decisions with limited information.
- Ability to perform complex investigations and liaise with multiple business units across the organisation.
