About the role

Gen's Mobile Development team builds secure, scalable mobile apps to protect consumers' digital lives. As a Senior Principal SQA Engineer in Chennai, you lead manual and automated testing for Android and iOS releases while driving quality metrics. The role requires an AI-first mindset to accelerate test design and automation using modern tools.

What you’ll do

• Own manual testing and automation across the mobile portfolio
• Drive releases ensuring deliverables ship on time and at high quality
• Derive test cases from requirements and resolve requirement gaps
• Groom defect backlog and drive it toward closure
• Use AI tools to accelerate test design, automation, debugging, and documentation
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, design, and DevOps teams
• Establish meaningful quality metrics and drive continuous improvement

What you’ll bring

• ~10+ years in SQA with senior/principal-level scope
• Hands-on experience with Appium, Espresso, or XCUITest
• Proven expertise in manual testing fundamentals and test case design
• Experience testing native and React Native Android/iOS apps
• Prior coding experience in Java, Kotlin, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Swift
• Strong understanding of mobile-specific testing concerns like form factors and OS versions

Nice to have

• Bachelor's/Master's in CS or equivalent practical experience
• Experience driving projects and managing release timelines
• Exposure to app store release processes (App Store Connect, Google Play Console)
• Awareness of mobile security testing concepts
