Senior Software Developer - D365 F&O

About the role

Caterpillar seeks a Senior Software Developer with deep expertise in X++ development and Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O). The role involves delivering F&O implementations, upgrades, integrations, and customizations, owning X++ development and extensions, and ensuring adherence to Microsoft D365 standards. Responsibilities include designing integrations with third‑party systems using OData, REST/SOAP APIs, AIF/DMF, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory, Dual Write, and Microsoft Fabric; supporting data migration via DMF; managing security roles, workflows, and performance tuning; and applying DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and environment management for F&O projects. The candidate will mentor developers, prepare technical design documents, and drive automation initiatives using Copilot Studio, AI Builder, and Python scripting. Strong knowledge of SSRS, Power BI, MS Fabric, SQL Server, and performance engineering is required. Preferred certifications include MB‑500 Finance & Operations Apps Developer and experience with Power Pages or AI‑powered Copilot Studio.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver Dynamics 365 F&O implementations, upgrades, integrations, and customizations.
  • Own and drive X++ development, customizations, and extensions using best practices.
  • Design and implement integrations with third-party systems using OData, REST/SOAP APIs, AIF/DMF, Azure Logic Apps, Service Bus, Data Factory, Dual Write, Microsoft Fabric.
  • Support data migration strategies and execution using DMF / Data Management Framework.
  • Apply strong knowledge of DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, D365 templates, and environment management for F&O projects.
