Lead Engineer - Public Cloud

About the role

IT Engineering team at CBTS India builds and operates enterprise Azure cloud platforms for clients across industries. The Lead Engineer drives Azure environment reliability, resolves complex issues, and mentors the operations crew while collaborating with Cloud Engineering on architecture and security. Based in Chennai, on-site work with occasional after‑hours support as needed.

What you’ll do

• Support and maintain complex Azure cloud environments
• Resolve application, connectivity, and operational issues in Azure
• Create, modify, and retire Azure resources and topologies
• Monitor performance, scalability, and security of Azure infrastructure
• Document operational processes and update support procedures
• Coordinate with Cloud Engineering teams on configuration impacts
• Track key metrics such as incident resolution and change implementation
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide after‑hours support

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years Azure operations experience
• Deep knowledge of Azure services (VMs, Storage, SQL, AD, Functions, AKS, Service Bus)
• Proficiency with Azure PowerShell, CLI, and Portal
• Expertise in Azure security (RBAC, NSGs, Policy, Key Vault)
• Experience with Azure networking (VNet, DNS, Load Balancer, ExpressRoute)
• Infrastructure‑as‑Code using ARM templates and Terraform
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes (AKS)
