First-Line Networking and IoT Engineer

About the role

Teltonika Networks is hiring a First-Line Networking and IoT Engineer to join its technical support team in Bengaluru, India. The role provides customer-facing technical support for business customers using routers, switches, gateways, and modems across IoT, Industry 4.0, Smart City, and Green Energy use cases. Day-to-day work includes handling phone, helpdesk, email, and other channel support, troubleshooting basic network and product issues, advising customers and sales on product use and integration, and escalating complex cases to Networking and IoT Engineers. This is an on-site, shift-based full-time position.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical support to business customers through multiple channels including phone, helpdesk, email, and other communication platforms
• Handle real-time phone interactions and written support requests, responding to helpdesk tickets within required response times
• Assist customers with product-related questions, troubleshooting, configuration, integration, and basic network-related issues
• Advise customers and sales representatives on the use and integration of Teltonika Networks products
• Support international customers across different regions and time zones within a shift-based support model
• Escalate complex or unresolved technical cases to Networking and IoT Engineers with clear technical context and troubleshooting steps
• Maintain clear and professional communication with customers and internal technical teams throughout the support and escalation process

What you’ll bring

• B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) with networking knowledge
• Fluent English communication skills
• Good understanding of computer networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, IPv4/IPv6, subnetting, routing, NAT, DHCP, DNS, VLANs, LAN/WAN)
• Basic understanding of VPN technologies (IPsec, OpenVPN, WireGuard) and firewall/network security concepts
• Basic understanding of cellular networking technologies (4G/LTE, 5G, APN configuration, SIM connectivity, mobile network troubleshooting)
• Ability to troubleshoot network connectivity issues using tools such as ping, traceroute, DNS troubleshooting, and packet analysis
• Understanding of the OSI model and basic network troubleshooting methodologies
• Good computer skills and experience using common office tools such as Excel, Word, and web-based systems

Nice to have

• CCNA certification or equivalent networking knowledge
• Experience with network equipment, routers, switches, gateways, modems, or similar networking products
• Knowledge of Mandarin Chinese
• Experience in customer service, technical support, IT support, B2B support, or an international support environment

Education
