Senior Java Application Support Engineer

About the role

Product Development Operations (PDO) Application Support team at Guidewire provides 24x7 support for Guidewire Cloud and on-premise customers. The Senior Java Application Support Engineer troubleshoots complex Java/Spring Boot microservices issues, resolves incidents within SLAs, creates knowledge articles, and executes operational tasks for cloud environments. Works hybrid from Bangalore with occasional weekend shifts as part of a Follow-the-Sun model, collaborating across Dev, Cloud, Platform, and Infosec teams.

What you’ll do

• Provide technical support to Guidewire customers using Java-based products
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex support cases, managing incidents within SLAs
• Communicate status updates and technical explanations to customers
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles
• Execute operational tasks for provisioning and restoring cloud services
• Identify service improvement areas and implement changes
• Share expertise and train team members
• Participate in 24x7 Follow‑the‑Sun support with occasional weekend shifts

What you’ll bring

• 8+ years Java enterprise application support
• Bachelor's in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
• Proficient with RESTful APIs and SOAP Web Services
• Skilled in troubleshooting tools such as Datadog, Dynatrace, AppDynamics
• Strong SQL knowledge, preferably PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server
• Mentoring junior engineers
• Collaborating with cross‑functional teams
