About the role
Generative AI team at HSBC builds cutting‑edge AI services and platforms for the bank. The Associate Director, Software Engineering leads design, development and production support of Python services, cloud components and LLM‑enabled applications, driving best‑practice engineering, observability and governance. Pune, India, on‑site, hybrid model with occasional remote days.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop Python services and cloud components
- Contribute to LLM‑enabled application development
- Implement testing, code reviews, CI/CD hygiene and secure coding
- Plan sprints, estimate work, manage dependencies and release readiness
- Maintain observability (logging, metrics, alerts) and runbooks
- Collaborate with Architecture, Cyber and Risk teams for governance
- Mentor team members and ensure stakeholder alignment
What you’ll bring
- 5+ years Python development
- Experience with LLM prompt engineering and deployment
- Production experience on GCP and Azure
- Kubernetes and Docker container orchestration
- CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle
- SQL/NoSQL data engineering, DBT exposure
- Agile Scrum/Kanban delivery
- Security and compliance awareness
