Purchase Engineer

About the role

Rexel in India is a fully owned INR 850 cr+ subsidiary of Rexel Global, operating 16 branches and 16 stock points across India to serve customers pan-India with products spanning Industrial Automation, Lighting, Panels, and Supply Chain Consolidation. The Purchase Engineer executes the overall procurement cycle by building and leveraging a supplier database to run RFQs, negotiating vendors on payment terms, lead time, and cost, and resolving supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues. The role also implements internal sourcing strategies for cost savings and timely quotes, handles material expediting and logistics, and produces MIS reporting as required. Location: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

What you’ll do

• Maintain a good supplier database and use it to execute RFQs
• Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure flawless material supply
• Negotiate with vendors to reduce payment terms, lead time, and cost
• Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with suppliers as needed
• Produce MIS reporting as per requirements
• Implement internal sourcing strategies to drive cost savings and timely supplier quotes
• Manage material expediting and material logistics
• Oversee the overall procurement cycle

What you’ll bring

• Diploma or equivalent degree
• 5-8 years of relevant work experience
• Good supplier database and knowledge to execute RFQs
• Ability to build strong supplier relationships for flawless material supply
• Negotiation skills to reduce payment terms, lead time, and cost
• Ability to resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with suppliers
• MIS reporting capability as per requirement
• Ability to implement internal sourcing strategies for cost saving and timely quotes
