Global Master Data Specialist

About the role

The Global Master Data Specialist joins Hitachi Energy's Global Quality team within the High Voltage business to shape Master Data Management across a global organization. Day-to-day, you define and govern the global MDM framework, establish governance processes, standards, roles, and responsibilities, drive organizational adoption and change management, partner with stakeholders to align priorities, improve data quality and trust, support digitalization and AI readiness, and monitor performance through KPIs and continuous improvement. The role is based in Mannheim, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany, with additional locations in Brno (Czechia), Xiamen (China), Lodi (Italy), Ludvika (Sweden), Sevlievo (Bulgaria), and Chennai (India), and operates on a hybrid work model.

What you’ll do

• Define and govern the global Master Data Management (MDM) framework across the High Voltage business.
• Identify critical master data objects, ownership structures, lifecycle requirements, and business usage.
• Establish governance processes, standards, roles, and responsibilities for master data management.
• Drive organizational adoption of master data governance practices and support change management initiatives across the business.
• Partner with business and functional stakeholders to align priorities and master data requirements.
• Drive initiatives that improve data quality, consistency, transparency, and trust across systems and processes.
• Support digitalization and AI readiness through scalable and reliable data foundations.
• Monitor master data performance through KPIs, governance reviews, and continuous improvement programs.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience collaborating across functions and organizational levels, including the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment without direct authori
• Experience leading change, improvement, or transformation initiatives in a global business environment.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data topics into practical business improvements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both written and spoken.
