About the role

Evernorth Health Services India, an innovation hub established in Hyderabad in 2024 for The Cigna Group, supports generative AI, product development, analytics, and software engineering. As a Software Engineering Advisor – Full Stack, you will provide hands-on software engineering and system architecture expertise for a Core Product, designing and developing AWS-hosted React/Java applications. You will work at the intersection of design and technology to transform complex technical processes into efficient, user-friendly enterprise applications, collaborating with cross-functional and onsite teams. The role is primarily based in the Hyderabad innovation hub with flexibility to work remotely, requires 11–13 years of experience, and involves a 45-hour work week with expected overlap with US hours.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop enterprise web applications using Java technology, REST API, microservices on OpenShift and AWS
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams of data, front-end and back-end engineers, analysts, DevOps and technical product owners
  • Provide technical leadership in system design, code review, coaching the team and delivering high-quality code
  • Identify technical debt and perform code reviews
  • Work in an agile development environment and collaborate with multiple teams while experimenting with new technologies
  • Work with cloud and infrastructure teams for setting up and maintenance of environments
  • Coordinate testing efforts with automation in mind
  • Collaborate with onsite development team for planning and execution of deliverables

What you’ll bring

  • 11–13 years of experience
  • College degree (Bachelor) in related technical/business areas or equivalent work experience
  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot and other Java frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of database systems, such as Oracle, for data storage and retrieval
  • Strong experience in developing RESTful APIs
  • Strong understanding of software development principles and best practices
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of the organization
