About the role
PTC seeks a Senior Software Specialist to design and develop BI solutions using Cognos Analytics, Cognos 12, and related tools. Responsibilities include building reports, dashboards, and metadata models, developing ETL processes with Pentaho, and creating database objects (tables, indexes, stored procedures) for data integration. The role requires strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, Unix scripting for report automation, and performance tuning of Cognos and BIRT reports. Candidates must be detail‑oriented, possess excellent communication and planning abilities, and thrive in a fast‑changing, cross‑functional environment. The position is based in Gurgaon, India, and is a full‑time, on‑site role.
What you’ll do
- Design and develop BI solutions with Cognos Analytics
- Develop BI reports from discovery to deployment
- Create databases, tables, indexes, stored procedures for ETL
- Design dashboards and drill-through reports in Cognos
- Troubleshoot and recommend optimized design techniques
- Analyze business requirements into design specifications
- Develop complex SQL and PL/SQL programs
- Automate report schedules using Unix and Shell Script
