Fund Administration Processor - Fund Accounting
About the role
HSBC’s Accounting & Valuations team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India seeks a Fund Administration Processor – Fund Accounting to support daily, monthly, and weekly Net Asset Value valuations and related reporting. Day-to-day work includes capital activity bookings, accruals, amortization, yields, NAV pack preparation, checker activities, fee reviews, ex-dividend distributions, trustee packs, and regulatory/client reporting across multiple jurisdictions. The role also involves identifying and reducing manual processes, supporting technology upgrades, leading user acceptance testing, and maintaining internal control and operational risk standards.
What you’ll do
- Prepare Net Asset Value packs and perform checker activities
- Perform capital activity bookings, accruals, amortization, and yields leading to final generation and validation of Net Asset Value through diagnostic checks, Financial Mainframe Report, and post-NAV
- Carry out monthly and reporting activities including Fee Reviews, ex-dividend Distribution, Trustee Packs and Queries, and Regulatory & Client Reporting
- Participate in deploying defined business solutions to remove manual processes and support/implement technology upgradation
- Lead User Acceptance Testing for the business as and when required
- Act as the first escalation point in resolving issues with the Business Partner on a timely and ongoing basis
- Review Job-Aid Matrix, Standard Operating Procedures, process notes, checklists, and other internal process documents periodically
- Ensure timely and accurate publishing of Management Information / Reports and completion of all mandatory training on time
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or qualifications to accounting/finance industry or relevant experience
- 3-6 years of relevant Funds administration experience
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and fundamentals of accounting
- Decent knowledge of Accounting & Valuations process with clear understanding of the end-to-end Fund Accounting Model
- Detailed understanding of single sub-process, control points, and end-to-end process risk
- Working knowledge of Bloomberg / Reuters and other reconciliation and accounting applications used across the industry lifecycle of the Net Asset Value process
- Basic knowledge in custody, brokerage, depository, investment accounting, mutual funds, Corporate Actions, Financial Instruments, and reconciliations
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Nice to have
- Additional qualifications related to the financial industry will be given preference
- Knowledge of Derivatives Instruments
- Earlier experience in custody / brokerage / funds services / depository industry
- Detailed understanding of end-to-end product and process, multiple markets, and regulations pertaining to the fund services industry
