Buyer II

About the role

Hubbell Incorporated, through Hubbell Unified Business Solutions (HUBS), is hiring a Buyer II/Buyer/Planner to source materials, convert purchase requisitions into purchase orders, and maintain optimal inventory levels while driving on-time delivery. Day-to-day duties include planning and buying, vendor negotiation, RFQ management, SAP tracking, and liaison work between vendors and engineering. The role is based in Cochin, KL, IN.

What you’ll do

• Handle sourcing and review purchase requisitions based on demand/forecast and turn them into purchase orders
• Drive top-notch customer on-time delivery and demonstrated lead time while maintaining optimal inventory levels
• Release customer orders from the planning queue based on material availability and lead-times
• Create purchase order tracking systems and alert management when orders are filled and invoices are issued
• Select and develop suppliers focusing on cost reduction, quality, and on-time delivery
• Handle procurements for build-to-print parts after determining price and availability through RFQs
• Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, delivery dates, quality, and required packaging
• Process non-conforming material requests (MRBR) and RMA requests with distributors/vendors in a timely manner

What you’ll bring

• Experience in the manufacturing industry
• Strong understanding of supply chain management concepts
• Proficiency in SAP for maintaining lead time and pricing
• Ability to read and understand blueprints/technical drawings and specifications
• Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Analytical and numerically astute with demonstrated problem-solving abilities
• Ability to prioritize multiple vendors and tasks with minimal supervision
• Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergencies
