About the role
Cognizant's Technology & Engineering department is hiring an SAP FICO HANA consultant in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. The role involves SAP functional consulting and ERP process delivery within the financial domain, leveraging SAP S/4HANA capabilities and standard processes. Day-to-day work includes balancing standard SAP capabilities with unique organizational needs, functional testing, defect resolution, process validation, configuration, and preparing functional specifications for enhancements and custom developments. The consultant will coordinate with business users, technical teams, integration teams, and other stakeholders to support financial closing, reconciliation, reporting, treasury operations, and financial control processes within complex organizations.
What you’ll do
- Balance SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities with unique organizational needs and help achieve practical solutions workable for both business and technical teams
- Perform SAP S/4HANA functional testing, defect resolution, process validation, and SAP S/4HANA configuration activities
- Prepare functional specifications for enhancements and custom developments
- Support financial closing, reconciliation, financial reporting, treasury operations, and financial control processes within complex organizations
- Understand integrated finance processes across procurement, receivables, treasury, payroll, projects, funds, grants, and reporting functions
- Align specialized institutional financial management requirements with SAP standard capabilities and leading practices
What you’ll bring
- Minimum 8+ years of SAP functional consulting or ERP process delivery experience within the relevant business domain
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA capabilities and standard processes relevant to the assigned domain
- Strong understanding of industry-standard business processes and how they are supported in SAP S/4HANA
- Ability to understand specialized business, governance, compliance, and operational needs within complex organizations such as public sector institutions or development banks
- Ability to balance SAP S/4HANA standard capabilities with unique organizational needs and help achieve practical solutions workable for both business and technical teams
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA functional testing, defect resolution, process validation, and SAP S/4HANA configuration activities
- Experience preparing functional specifications for enhancements and custom developments
- Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with business users, technical teams, integration teams, and other stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience working with public sector organizations, international institutions, development banks, or similarly complex environments is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with regulated, audit-sensitive, multi-entity, and multi-currency financial operating environments is preferred
