Senior Project Controls Manager
About the role
The Senior Project Controls Manager at AECOM serves as the project controls lead for an airport development programme, reporting to the Project Director. Day-to-day work includes establishing project controls systems and governance, managing integrated master scheduling, cost and resource control, performance monitoring, risk management, and providing data-driven strategic decision support across design, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning packages. The role is based on-site in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India.
What you’ll do
- Establish, maintain, and monitor the Integrated Master Schedule covering all project packages and stakeholders
- Develop project planning standards, work breakdown structures, coding structures, and scheduling protocols
- Review and validate contractor schedules, work programmes, resource deployment plans, and recovery schedules
- Monitor critical path activities, float consumption, milestone achievement, and schedule performance
- Establish and manage project cost control, budget monitoring, and forecasting systems
- Monitor project expenditure, commitments, cash flow forecasts, and forecast-at-completion
- Establish project-wide monitoring, reporting, and performance measurement systems including dashboards, KPIs, and executive reporting tools
- Develop and maintain project risk registers, risk monitoring systems, and mitigation, contingency, and recovery strategies
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related discipline
- Overall 15-20 years of professional experience in project controls, planning, scheduling, cost management, and project performance monitoring
- Minimum 10 years of experience in aviation projects involving airport terminal buildings, airside works, landside infrastructure, utilities, and airport support facilities
- Demonstrated experience managing project controls functions for complex infrastructure or large commercial projects of high magnitude
- Experience in PMC, EPC, Design-Build, or Client-side project management environments
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, BIM-enabled project controls, project analytics, and digital reporting platforms
- Proven expertise in integrated schedule management, cost control, forecasting, resource management, delay analysis, and performance measurement
- Strong leadership in project controls management for large and complex airport or infrastructure projects
Nice to have
- Master's Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Business Administration, or equivalent qualification
- PMP, PMI-SP, Primavera P6 Professional, or equivalent Project Controls certification
- Experience in brownfield airport projects and multidisciplinary programme management
- Experience in at least one Greenfield or Brownfield airport project of minimum 10 MPPA capacity involving terminal, airside, or major airport infrastructure works
