About the role

First Solar's Performance-Predictive Analytics team in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu, India, seeks a Reliability & Test Engineering Technician to support product reliability monitoring and supplier qualification. Day-to-day work involves performing baseline and post-test measurements on sample modules, communicating abnormal results for containment, conducting first-level maintenance on test equipment, and maintaining quality control procedures and records per company policy and ISO standards. The role requires approximately 1–2 months of travel per year and a background check.

What you’ll do

  • Perform baseline and post-test measurements for all reliability tests on sample modules pulled from the production line per the defined schedule
  • Communicate any abnormal test results immediately to relevant stakeholders for containment and corrective action
  • Perform first-level maintenance on test equipment and communicate to relevant authorities if any abnormalities are found on test equipment
  • Maintain Quality Control Procedures and records per Company Policy and ISO Standards

What you’ll bring

  • Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic engineering or equivalent field
  • 5 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2–3 years of experience in an electronic testing environment
  • Ability to communicate in both English and Tamil
  • Basic troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of calibration, testing, and measurement experience
  • Knowledge of using measurement tools and operating equipment such as multimeters, power supplies, and data loggers
  • Knowledge of Microsoft applications
