About the role
Electrical Engineering team at Whirlpool India designs and develops embedded hardware for home appliances. The Lead Hardware Engineer drives hardware development projects, mentors the team, and ensures integration with software while optimizing performance and manufacturability. Based in Pune, on-site work model, with responsibility for component selection, testing, and continuous improvement.
What you’ll do
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship throughout hardware development lifecycle
- Lead cross‑functional forums to share best practices and knowledge
- Oversee design, schematic, and PCB layout of embedded systems
- Collaborate with software team to ensure seamless hardware‑software integration
- Plan project milestones, timelines, and resource allocation
- Conduct hardware testing, validation, and compliance verification
- Make strategic decisions on component selection and vendor relationships
- Promote continuous improvement and documentation of design activities
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- 9-12 years hardware development experience in consumer electronics
- Expertise in digital and analog circuit design
- Proficiency with PCB CAD tools (Altium, Eagle, KiCad)
- Experience with microcontrollers, power electronics, and communication interfaces
