Solution Architect

About the role

Apex Group, a global financial solutions provider, seeks a Solution Architect Cloud to design secure, scalable, and cost‑efficient cloud solutions. The role spans IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS, producing HLDs, LLDs, and ADRs, and ensuring compliance with ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST, and DORA. Responsibilities include embedding zero‑trust security, defining identity and access architectures, architecting hybrid and multi‑cloud connectivity, and driving FinOps practices. The architect will lead migrations, M&A integrations, and modernization programs, collaborate with InfoSec for threat modelling, and support enterprise architecture governance. Candidates must bring deep hyperscaler expertise, networking, identity, compute, storage, backup, and resilience skills, and a strong focus on governance, cost optimisation, and stakeholder engagement.

What you’ll do

• Design end-to-end cloud architectures across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS
• Produce HLDs, LLDs, ADRs
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable solutions
• Define landing zone architectures, subscription models, environment strategies
• Embed security-by-design and zero-trust principles
• Align solutions to ISO 27001, SOC2, NIST, DORA frameworks
• Define identity, access, encryption, key-management architectures
• Partner with InfoSec for threat modelling and risk assessments
• Architect hybrid and multi-cloud connectivity models
• Design secure integration patterns (APIs, messaging, event streaming)
• Contribute to Enterprise Architecture and Cloud CCoE
• Define and enforce cloud design standards, blueprints, guardrails
• Support Architecture Review Boards and design authority forums
• Design cost-optimised architectures
• Implement tagging, cost allocation, budget guardrails
• Support forecasting and consumption optimisation initiatives
• Support cloud migrations, M&A integrations, modernisation programmes
• Provide technical leadership to engineering and delivery teams
• Ensure solution delivery aligns to approved architecture
• Manage stakeholder relationships with product owners, directors, architects, engineers, cybersecurity, vendors
